ASHRAE Looks at Making ASHRAE Handbook More “Sustainable”

ATLANTA – To help engineers respond to environmental challenges, ASHRAE is working to ensure guidance on sustainable design is incorporated in its Handbook. ASHRAE is conducting a review of the sustainability content of all Handbook chapters and is looking at writing a new chapter on sustainability with a view toward integrated building design in its Fundamentals volume. The ASHRAE Handbook is the most widely used reference book in the HVAC&R industry for system design, application and equipment operation and maintenance.To give feedback on incorporating sustainable design guidance in the ASHRAE Handbook, visit the “comment on the Handbook section” at www.ashrae.org/handbook.

Oct. 31 is Last Day for Current LEED AP Exam

USGBC is preparing to launch two new tracks for the LEED Professional Accreditation exam, in addition to an updated version of the LEED for New Construction exam. In order to transition over to the new exams, there will be a short period during which testing is unavailable. The last day to take the current version of the LEED Professional Accreditation exam will be October 31, 2006. Testing is expected to resume in mid to late November. More>>
