LEED 2009 is now open for second public comment. All changes made since the first public comment period are tracked in the rating system documents that accompany the public comment announcement. Comment period closes Tuesday, September 2 at 5pm PT.
The Advanced Energy Design Guide series of publications is now available as free electronic downloads. The publication series, now with four publications, has provided 30 percent energy reduction guidance for the following types of buildings:
USGBC members can download the publications for free in partnership with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), U.S. Department of Energy, the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America and the American Institute of Architects.
If you would like something for your bookshelf, full-color print copies may still be purchased from the ASHRAE Bookstore accessible through the same link.
ASHRAE also has sent free print copies of the Advanced Energy Design Guide for K-12 Schools to more than 14,000 school systems in the United States to encourage energy-efficiency. More than 88,000 of the publications have been obtained via free download since January and 100,000 copies of the Advanced Energy Design Guide series are now in circulation.
